Over 1.5m cruise passengers expected in 2017
750 dockings scheduled in Jeju City, Gangjeong

Analysts project Jeju will welcome over one and a half million cruise passengers next year.

Provincial officials say that’s based on the nearly 750 dockings that have been booked for the year ahead. The province recently began accepting reservations from cruiseliners to stop here.

At Jeju Port alone, 21 vessels will berth 570 times next year, bringing in over a million tourists.

The remaining 500,000 or so will enter Jeju at a new port in Gangjeong, which is set to open July 1st, 2017. Twelve cruise ships are scheduled to dock there 177 times by the end of the year.
