Preparations begin for 24th Seongsan Sunrise Peak Festival
More activities and events planned this year

It’s only the beginning of September, but organizers have already begun preparing for the 24th Seongsan Sunrise Peak Festival this New Year’s Eve.

The preparation committee has reportedly mapped out the details of the event. It also named an honorary ambassador, a performance director, and an overall managing director for it.

This year’s festival will be held all across Seongsan-ri, unlike previously when it was only at Sunrise Peak. There will be more activities and events, as well.

On the sidelines, organizers will promote Jeju haenyeo and gather support in getting the female divers listed as a UNESCO World Heritage.

성산일출축제 준비 착수…전문성 강화

성산일출축제위원회가 올 연말 열리는 제24회 성산일출축제 성공 개최를 위한 본격적인 준비에 들어갔습니다.

성산일출축제위원회는 최근 총회를 열고 축제 세부계획을 확정하는 한편 홍보대사와 전문 연출감독, 운영감독을 위촉했습니다.

특히 올해는 성산일출봉에 국한된 축제장을 성산리 전역으로 확대하고
관광객 참여와 만족도를 높이기 위해 프로그램을 대폭 강화할 계획입니다.

또 제주해녀의 유네스코 세계문화유산 등재를 기원하는 행사도 대폭 강화할 계획입니다.
