Jeju Mecenat Association, local firms hold ‘alliance ceremony’
Companies agree to fund cultural events

The Jeju (MEE-see-na) Mecenat Association, a local business council for the arts, held its first so-called “alliance ceremony” Tuesday between companies and arts organizations.

Representatives from nine companies, including a rental car firm, and 16 arts-related groups took part.

As part of this new alliance, the companies agreed to contribute some 160 million won to a fund the organizations will use for future cultural events.

사단법인 제주메세나협회가 오늘 오후 제주도립미술관에서 창립 이후 처음으로
기업과 예술단체 간 결연식을 개최했습니다.

이번 결연식에는 올 상반기 결연 사업에 동참한 제주사랑렌트카 등 9개 기업과
제주언론학회 등 16개 단체가 참여했습니다.

기업들은 결연금 1억 6천여 만원으로 다양한 방법으로 문화예술활동을 지원하게 되고 문화예술단체는 안정적인 환경에서 창작활동을 할 수 있는 기반이 마련됐습니다.
