Groundwater passes quality test
Samples from 106 wells tested

Jeju groundwater has again tested very clean.

The Jeju Research Institute of Public Health and Environment tested samples collected from 106 wells. The levels of nitrate nitrogen and chloride detected were much lower than what is considered harmful.

The water did not contain any other harmful substances or traces of fertilizer, leading researchers to conclude it was very clean.

Authorities monitor the quality of Jeju’s groundwater three times a year.

지하수 수질 '양호'…유해성분 미검출

제주도내 지하수의 수질이 매우 양호한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주특별자치도 보건환경연구원은 도내 지하수 관정 106곳을 모니터링한 결과
오염지표 항목인 질산성질소가 기준치 이하로 측정되는 등 수질이 양호한 것으로 조사됐다고 밝혔습니다.

이와함께 유해성분이 휘발성 물질이나 농약 성분도 검출되지 않았고 다른 오염 지표항목도 농업용수 수질기준 이내의 양호한 수질상태를 보였습니다.

제주도는 지하수의 수질보전을 위해 매년 3차례 수질모니터링을 실시하고 있습니다.
