Tourists spent ￦4.7t in Jeju in 2015
17% of all revenue generated on island last year


Tourists spent nearly 5 trillion won in Jeju last year.

The Jeju branch of the Bank of Korea, the provincial government, the Jeju Tourism Organization, and Statistics Korea compiled data from across the industry, and put the figure at 4.7 trillion won.

That’s 17 percent of the total revenue generated on the island last year.

Analysts found that the biggest single source of tourism revenue was in the retail sector, at 1.6 trillion won. That was followed by accomodations and food at 1.1 trillion won, transportation revenue at 900 billion won, and sports and leisure spending at 600 billion won.

지난해 제주 관광수입이 4조 7천억에 이르렀다는 연구결과가 나왔습니다.

한국은행 제주본부와, 제주도, 제주관광공사가 통계청 조사와 신용카드 이용실적 등을 토대로
지난해 관광객와 도민의 관광 업종별 수입을 집계한 결과 제주방문관광객에 의한 관광수입은 4조 7천억 원으로 집계됐습니다.

이는 지난해 제주 총수입인 27조 4천억의 17%를 차지하는 것입니다.

업종별로는 소매업이 1조 6천억 원으로 가장 많았고 숙박과 음식은 1조 1천억 원, 운수업 9천억, 스포츠와 여가 업종 6천억 순으로 분석됐습니다.
