‘National Safety Experience Center’ to be built in Jeju
Work on ￦12b project to begin next year


People will be able to learn how to prepare for typhoons, earthquakes, and other natural disasters when they visit a “National Safety Experience Center” once it is built here in Jeju.

Lawmaker Kang Chang-il of the main opposition Minjoo Party said the decision to build the facility here was made Thursday after an assessment by the Ministry of Public Safety and Security.

Beginning next year, 12 billion won will be injected into the project. Officials say the public safety ministry and Jeju provincial government have yet to iron out the details, including where exactly the center will be built.
