64% of new residents wish to live in Jeju for good
Middle-aged people most likely to make island permanent home


A new study finds that over half of Jeju’s new residents wish to live here for good.

The Jeju Women and Family Research Institute surveyed 500 people who moved to the island and found that 64 percent wanted to spend the rest of their lives on the island.

People in their 40s were most favorable towards the idea, with nearly 70 percent expressing their desire to do so, while only 40 percent of those in their 20s gave the same response.

By region, 73.4 percent of those living in the eastern part of Jeju City said they would live here for good.

정착 의지 정도를 조사한 결과
응답자의 64%가 계속해서 정착할 의지가 있다고 답했습니다.

연령대별로는 40대가 69.4%로 가장 높았고
20대는 영구 정착의지가 있다는 응답이 40%에 그쳐 가장 낮았습니다.

거주 지역별로는 도심지 지역인 제주시 동지역에 거주하는
응답자가 73.4%로 영구정착 의지가 가장 높았습니다.
