Tamna Cultural Festival begins October 5
9,000 participants from across the island

One of the island’s premier cultural events, the Tamna Cultural Festival, will be from October 5th to the 9th at Tapdong Plaza in Jeju City.

This is the 55th edition of the festival. Some 9,000 people from across the island are taking part, split up into some 500 groups.

The festival will begin with prayers for the success of the event at Samseonghyeol and a ritual commemorating Kim Man-deok at Mochoongsa Temple.

The five-day festival will also include folk art programs, a folk song contest, and other activities and events.

탐라문화제 모레(5일) 탑동광장서 개막

제주의 대표 문화축제인 탐라문화제가
모레(5일)부터 9일까지 제주시 탑동광장 일대에서 열립니다.

올해로 55번째를 맞는 탐라문화제는
문화왕국 탐라, 신명을 펼쳐라!’를 주제로
도내 읍ㆍ면ㆍ동 민소보존회 등 5백 여개팀,
9천 여명이 참가합니다.

탐라문화제는 제주시 모충사에서
의녀 김만덕의 나눔과 베풂의 뜻을 기리는 제례 봉행과
제주시 삼성혈에서 열리는 탐라개벽 신위제를 시작으로
9일까지 민속예술축제와 전국민요경창대회,
청소년 예능 페스티벌 등 다양한 행사들이 진행됩니다.
