Ruling party chief promises aid during Friday visit to Jeju

The leader of the ruling Saenuri Party is promising national support for post-typhoon restoration work.

(이정현) Lee Jung-hyun visited damage-stricken areas in Jeju on Friday, including Hancheon-gyo and Namsu-gak, and pledged to push for aid at government and ruling party meetings, so that life would return to normal as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Governor Won Heeryong has said he is in the process of meeting with various government departments in a bid to get the island designated a disaster zone.

이정현 새누리당 대표가 태풍 '차바'로 피해를 입은
제주에 국가적 지원을 약속했습니다.

이 대표는 오늘(7일) 오전 제주에 입도한 후
제주시 한천교와 남수각을 잇따라 방문해 침수 피해 상황을 살폈습니다.
이 자리에서 이 대표는 원활한 복구 작업이 이루어져
하루속히 일상으로 복귀할 수 있도록
당정 회의 등을 통해 지원책을 적극 강구하겠다고 약속했습니다.

한편 원희룡도지사는 신속한 복구를 위해 제주를
특별재난지역으로 선포될 수 있도록 정부 부처와 협의를
진행중이라고 밝혔습니다.
