Typhoon damage tally now at ￦23b
Damage reports being accepted through Saturday


As of Monday, locals had reported 23 billion won in damage caused by Typhoon Chaba.

The Jeju Disaster Prevention and Countermeasures Headquarters says nine billion won in damage has been reported to private property, including flooded homes as well as damage to farming and livestock facilities.

The remaining 14 billion won comes from the public sector, such as the flooding of World Natural Heritage sites and damage to cultural heritage facilities.

Officials expect the total to rise. They are accepting damage reports at community service centers through this Saturday.

태풍피해 230억 원으로 늘어…15일까지 접수

태풍 차바로 인한 피해규모가 계속해서 늘고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도 재난안전대책본부에 따르면 오늘(10일) 오전까지 접수된 태풍 차바 피해 신고는 17개 분야, 230억 원에 이르고 있습니다.

사유시설은 주택침수나 파손, 농업시설, 축산시설 피해 등 90억 원, 공공시설은 세계유산센터 침수와 문화재시설 파손 등 140억 원입니다.

하지만 아직까지도 계속 피해사례가 접수되는 만큼 최종적인 피해규모는 더 커질 것으로 예상되고 있습니다.

이번 태풍 차바에 대한 피해신고는 오는 15일까지 읍면동사무소에서 접수합니다.
