Jeju City collecting more real estate tax revenue

Jeju City is collecting more in real estate taxes.

Administration officials say they collected last month 47.1 billion won in property tax from 180,300 taxpayers. That was for both land and housing units.

Compared to September 2015, that’s 17,000 more taxpayers and 8.9 billion won more in the amount collected.

Officials attributed the rise in tax revenue to the increases in prices for housing and appraised values for land.

주택·토지가격 오르며 재산세도 증가

주택과 토지가격이 오르며 행정기관이 거둬들인 재산세도 늘었습니다.

제주시는 올해 9월분 토지와 주택에 대한 재산세로 18만 300여 건에 471억 원을 징수했다고 밝혔습니다.

이 같은 액수는 지난해보다 1만 7천여 건에 89억 원이 늘어난 것입니다.

제주시는 주택가격과 토지개별공시지가 상승으로 재산세가 큰 폭으로 상승했다고 설명했습니다.
