Monthly rent in Jeju rises at fastest pace in nation

In a recent study, the Honam Regional Statistics Office determined that in the first nine months of 2016 an index that tracks monthly rent prices stood at 116, which means the figure was 16 percent higher than it was five years previously, in 2011.

The national average for the same period was 8.9 percent. Growth was highest in the country here on the island.

Jeonse prices, meanwhile, rose here at the slowest pace in the nation between 2011 and 2016 - 11 percent.

제주도내 월세값 부담이 커지고 있습니다.

호남지방통계청이 발표한 '제주도 생활물가 변화'에 따르면 올들어 지난달까지 제주도내 월세지수는 116으로 지난 2011년보다 16% 상승했습니다.

특히 전국 평균 상승률 8.9%를 웃돌며 16개 시도 가운데 가장 높게 나타나고 있습니다.

반면 전세값은 11% 오르며 전국에서 가장 낮은 상승률을 보였습니다.
