5. Harsh punishments for removing native plants, stones
Authorities targeting offenders at Geomun Oreum, Seongsan Sunrise Peak

The provincial office of World Natural Heritage is cracking down on legal violations at Geomun Oreum and Seongsan Sunrise Peak through the end of July.

The illegal activities being targeted include the removal of native plants and stones as well as trespassing.

The unauthorized gathering of plants in a Cultural Properties Protection Zone is punishable by up to five years behind bars or a fine of up to 50 million won.




거문오름·성산일출봉 불법행위 단속 강화

세계유산본부가 오는 7월까지 거문오름과 성산일출봉 내 불법행위 단속을 강화합니다.

주요단속내용을 보면 식물이나 광물의 채취 또는 반출, 무단 출입 등입니다.

사전에 허가받지 않고 문화재 보호 구역 내에서 식물을 채취할 경우 5년 이하의 징역이나 5천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처해질 수 있습니다.
