‘Tax breaks for golf clubs should be continued’
Jeju office of NPAD releases statement Wednesday

The Jeju office of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy is arguing that a recent tax law revision only benefits conglomerates.

In a Wednesday statement, the office says the consumption tax breaks enjoyed by local golf courses should remain, not discontinued as is currently planned.

It contends the courses play a role in reducing the amount of Korean money spent abroad on golf and that the island needs policies that enhance the competitiveness of the golf clubs, not cut their benefits.

최근 정부가 발표한 세법개정안은 재벌기업만을 위한 속빈 강정이라며, 정부는 제주골프장 개별소비세제 폐지를 당장 철회해야 한다고 주장했습니다.

특히 제주의 골프장은 관광 측면뿐만 아니라 국부 유출 방지라는 차원에서도 중요한 의미가 있다며,
오히려 경쟁력 강화를 위한 제도의 확대가 필요하다고 강조했습니다.
