‘I will completely resolve all April 3rd Incident issues’
Moon Jae-in makes first Jeju visit since launching presidential bid

Moon Jae-in of the liberal Democratic Party of Korea has made his first visit to Jeju since registering as a presidential candidate.

Mr. Moon met April Third Incident victims’ relatives Tuesday at the April 3rd Peace Park. He also laid flowers and burned incense in honor of those who lost their lives.

He promised that, if elected, he will completely resolve all issues related to the incident. Specifically, he vowed to uncover the truth of what happened, compensate victims, draw up official lists of victims and survivors, and revise the April Third Special Law.

In a break from previous administrations, Mr. Moon also said he would participate as president in next year’s 70th anniversary memorial ceremony of the incident.

After his visit to the park, he campaigned around Dongmun Rotary in Jeju City. He also met with survivors and victim’s relatives of the Sewol ferry disaster at the Kim Man-duk Memorial Hall.

아울러 정권교체를 통해 내년 70주년을 맞는 4.3 추념식에는 대통령 자격으로 참석하겠다고 강조했습니다.

김만덕기념관에서 세월호 생존자와 희생자 유족들을 만났습니다.
