50,000+ Welfare Transport Cards distributed
Recipients may ride many buses for free

The province has given more than 50,000 local people a Jeju Welfare Transport Card, which gives them free rides on many island buses.

Officials say some 52,500 cards have been issued since the beginning of September.

That means about 61 percent of the 86,000 people who qualify for the cards have received them. The province projects that figure to top 80 percent by the end of the year.

With the card, residents at least 70 years of age, the registered disabled, and recipients of national commendations may ride blue, green, and tourist buses for free.

제주도는 지난 7월부터 현재까지 5만 2천 5백여 명이 교통복지카드를 발급받았다고 밝혔습니다.

이는 전체 발급 대상자 8만 6천여 명의 61%로 제주도는 연말까지 발급률이 80%를 넘을 것으로 예상했습니다.

만 70살 이상 어르신과 등록장애인 국가유공자들은 교통복지카드를 발급받으면
간선과 지선 교통관광버스를 무료로 이용할 수 있습니다.
