Less Chinese-owned land in Seogwipo
From 4.8m square meters in 2015 to 4.6m square meters last month

Chinese own less land in Seogwipo than they have in years past.

According to officials, Chinese nationals owned about 4.6 million square meters of land in the city as of last month. They owned about 4.8 million square meters in 2015 and 4.7 million last year.

Local officials say new measures to prevent speculation are the reason for the decline. Potential buyers now need permits to buy land in Seongsan-eup and the city is rejecting many applications to subdivide plots.

서귀포지역 중국인 소유 토지 감소세

서귀포 지역에서 중국인 소유 토지가 꾸준히 감소하고 있습니다.

서귀포시에 따르면 지난달 기준 중국인 소유토지는 460만 2천여 제곱미터로
지난 2015년 480만 제곱미터, 지난해 474만 5천여 제곱미터와 비교해 해마다 줄고 있습니다.

서귀포시는 성산읍 지역에서 실시되는 토지거래허가제를 비롯해 토지쪼개기 불허 등 행정차원의 투기방지 대책이 효과를 거둔 것으로 분석했습니다.
