Province preparing for winter snow
Sandbags, salt, and snowplows

The provincial government is making preparations to deal with possible heavy snow this winter.

Sandbags and salt have been distributed to 27-hundred spots in mid-slope areas that often get a lot of snow.

25 plows and other snow removal vehicles are on-hand to keep main thoroughfares clear through mid-March.

Officials have also earmarked 400 million won to pay private-sector contractors for snow removal work in different districts of the island.

제주도, 겨울철 폭설 제설 대책 마련

제주특별자치도가 겨울철 폭설에 대비해 제설 대책을 마련합니다.

이를 위해 중산간 지역과 급경사로 구간 등 폭설 취약지역 2천 7백여 곳에
모래주머니와 염화칼슘 배치를 완료했습니다.

또 내년 3월 중순까지 제설 장비 25대를 배치해 시내외 주요 노선 제설 작업에 나설 계획입니다.

특히 올해는 읍면동 별로 민간업체 제설 용역비로 4억원을 새롭게 편성했습니다.
