2. Province to survey hog farm odors
Inspections begin at 106 farms next month

The province will survey foul odors at local hog farms for the second time, beginning next month.

It will investigate a total of 106 farms in 15 Jeju City communities and 11 in Seogwipo.

The subjects of the inspection are farms with at least 5,000 hogs. The list includes facilities run by the Nanji Livestock Laboratory and the Jeju Livestock Institute, as well as farms in designated odor management zones.

The province conducted a similar livestock odor inspection last year. It plans to finish probes of all island livestock farms by the end of next year.

내달부터 양돈농가 축산악취실태 조사

제주특별자치도가 다음달부터 양돈농가에 대한 2차년도 축산악취실태를 조사합니다.

조사대상은 제주시 15개 마을과 서귀포시 11개 마을에 106곳입니다.

5,000두 이상 사육농가가 조사대상이며, 난지축산연구소와 축산진흥원, 그리고 지난해 악취관리지역 지정에서 제외된 농가도 이번 조사 대상에 포함됐습니다.

제주도는 지난해에 이어 올해 두번째 축산악취를 조사하고 있으며, 내년까지 모든 농가의 실태를 조사하기로 했습니다.
