Seogwipo City has been selected as the top city for three consecutive years in the evaluation of last year's cultural city development project conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

This makes it the only city in the country to achieve this distinction.

Seogwipo City received recognition for alleviating cultural disparities between urban and rural areas and expanding citizens' particiation through the creation of neighborhood cultural spaces linked with community centers across 105 villages.

In its final year as a designated statutory cultural city, Seogwipo City has committed to effectively utilizing the unique cultural resources of each village to address regional inequalities through culture and to strive for the sustainable development of a cultural city.
