The household loan delinquency rate at deposit banks in Jeju continues to soar, reaching a new record high within just a month.

According to the Bank of Korea Jeju Branch, as of the end of December last year, the delinquency rate for household loans at deposit banks in Jeju stood at 1.07%, up 0.04 percentage points from the previous month.

This marks the highest level since the Bank of Korea began tracking regional delinquency rates in December 2019. The prolonged period of high interest rates and economic downturn has significantly weakened borrowers' repayment capacity.

Meanwhile, the corporate loan delinquency rate dropped 0.03 percentage points to 1%.



가계대출 연체율 1.07%…한달 만에 최고치

제주지역 예금은행의 가계대출 연체율이 고공행진을 이어가면서
한 달 만에 또다시 최고치를 기록했습니다.

한국은행 제주본부에 따르면
지난해 12월말 기준 제주도내 예금은행의
가계대출 연체율은 1.07%로
전월 대비 0.04%포인트 상승했습니다.

지역별 연체율을 집계하기 시작한 2019년 12월 이후 최고치로
고금리와 경기 침체 장기화로
차주 상환 능력이 크게 떨어진 것으로 풀이되고 있습니다.

반면 기업대출 연체율은 0.03%포인트 하락한 1%를 기록했습니다.
