A recent study suggests that introducing urban air mobility (UAM) in Jeju could generate 530 billion KRW in economic impact and create 1,800 jobs by 2040.

The Jeju Research Institute shared these findings based on an analysis of the market outlook and potential economic impact of UAM in the region.

The study focused on three main routes including Jeju International Airport to Jungmun route, Jeju airport to Seongsan (성산), and Jungmun (중문) to Seongsan (성산). It assessed potential UAM operations, projected demand for tourism and transportation, and analyzed the long-term economic impact.

The Jeju Research Institute emphasized the need for new transportation methods, considering future development strategies, tourism demand, and traffic congestion.
