In relation to Jeju Province’s energy transition policy it plans to roll out measures to revive the local construction sector.

Governor Oh Young-hoon commented at a Press conference that given the difficulty of generating new construction demand, Jeju will inject energy sector projects such as its Green Remodeling to its plan.

Jeju plans to tie heat-pump installations to energy-efficiency remodeling on homes including window replacement, insulation, and other interior upgrades such as flooring and wallpaper.

To expand Green Remodeling, Jeju may designate old downtown areas and aging residential zones as revitalization districts. It also plans to ease regulations such as building coverage and floor-area ratios, and introduce regulatory exemptions.

Jeju will also manage large construction sites to raise subcontracting shares for local firms. In the public sector, it aims to front-load spending in the first half of the year.

도내 건설업 부진이 장기화되는 가운데
제주도가 에너지 대전환 정책과의 연계를 핵심으로 한 건설경기 활성화 대책을 마련했습니다.

오영훈 지사는 제주도청 기자실에서 브리핑을 통해
건축 수요를 창출하는게 어려운 현실을 감안해 제주도가 추진하는 그린 리모델링 등
에너지 분야의 새로운 사업을
건설 수요로 연결하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

우선 주택에 히트펌프를 보급할 때
창호 교체와 단열재 보강, 바닥재와 벽지 교체 등
에너지 효율이 높은 건물로 리모델링을 함께 추진하도록 할 계획입니다.

그린 리모델링 사업 확대를 위해
원도심이나 노후 주거지를 활성화 구역으로 지정해 건폐율과 용적율을 완하하고
건축 특례 지구를 지정해 각종 규제를 완화할 방침입니다.

또 도내 대형 건설 공사 현장의
지역 업체 하도급 비율을 높일 수 있도록 관리하고 공공 건설 분야에서도 상반기 재정 집행을 최대한 높일 계획입니다.
