Jeju Province will strengthen identity checks for overseas Korean residents who are exceptionally allowed to enter foreigner-only
casinos.

The province has formed an inspection team. Through March 5, it will verify the authenticity of overseas residency certificates and check whether passport documents match casino entry records.

In 2024, corrective measures were taken after 13 cases were identified among 940 Korean emigrants in which verification of permanent residency status was found to be insufficient.
