The Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services has called for careful crop management and safe farming practices amid frequent heat waves and tropical nights this summer.

Authorities urged farmers to secure water supplies, inspect irrigation systems, and use shading facilities to cool greenhouses.
It stressed that farmers should secure agricultural water in advance and inspect irrigation facilities. In greenhouses, shading equipment should be used to lower internal temperatures.

The agency also advised covering the soil around crop roots with straw or grass to curb moisture evaporation and rising soil temperatures.

They also warned that water left inside hoses used for irrigation or pesticide spraying can become dangerously hot during heat waves.

과수는 비대와 착색이 불량해지고
수분 변화로 인한
열매 터짐과 햇볕 데임이 발생할 수 있다고 지적했습니다.

이에따라 농업용수를 사전에 확보하고
관수시설을 점검하는 한편
시설하우스에서는
차광시설을 활용해 내부 온도를 낮춰야 한다고 강조했습니다.

또 짚이나 풀 등으로 작물 뿌리 주변을 덮어
토양 수분 증발과 지온 상승을 억제해야 한다고 조언했습니다.

이와 함께
폭염기에 관수나
농약 살포에 사용한 호스 내부의 물이
뜨겁게 달궈질 수 있어 주의를 당부했습니다.
