The expansion of the cargo pier at Seongsan Port, which began in March 2023, has been completed after three years and four months.

The project boosted berthing capacity from 2,000 tons to 5,000 tons, adding a 390-meter cargo pier and modern port facilities.

The upgraded pier can now accommodate three 5,000-ton cargo ships at once.

The province expects the project to strengthen logistics in the eastern region and ease limits on large cargo ship arrivals and departures.



성산포항 화물부두 확충 마무리…5천톤급 접안

지난 2023년 3월 착공한
성산포항 화물부두 확충공사가 3년 4개월 만에 마무리됐습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면
이번 확충공사로
기존 2천톤급에 불과했던 접안 능력이
5천톤급으로 대폭 확대됐고
총연장 390M의 화물부두와 최신 항만 부대시설을 갖추게 됐습니다.

또 5천톤급 대형 화물선 3척이 동시에 접안할 수 있게 됐습니다.

제주도는
동부지역의 안정적인 물류 기반을 구축하고
대형 화물선 입출항 한계를 극복하는데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대했습니다.
