Building height restrictions across downtown Jeju City are set to be significantly eased.

Jeju City said it has prepared a redevelopment plan to abolish height restrictions in 75 zones, accounting for 99% of all height-restricted zone area, and has begun consultations with the Ministry of Environment.

Under the revision, the current 55-meter height cap in the Sinjeju and Nohyeong areas will be lifted, allowing buildings in commercial zones to rise up to 160 meters, subject to urban planning review.

However, cultural heritage protection zones and separately designated district unit planning zones, including Ildo and Ido, are excluded from this plan.

이번 개정으로
신제주와 노형 일대의 최고 55m 고도제한이 풀려
상업지역은
도시계획 심의 등을 거쳐
최고 160m까지 건축이 가능해집니다.

다만 문화재 보호구역과
일도·이도지구 등 별도의 지구단위계획 구역은
이번 대상에서 제외됐습니다.
