The South Korean government will temporarily allow visa-free entry for Chinese group tourists during the third quarter of this year.

The plan was announced as part of the “Global Growth Strategy for Inbound Tourism” during an economic review meeting.

Currently, Chinese tourists are only allowed to stay visa-free for up to 30 days in Jeju. This will be the first time such visa-free access is extended nationwide.

As Chinese tourists make up approximately 70% of all foreign visitors to Jeju, the measure is expected to have a significant impact on the island.
