The provincial government has designated hundreds of new alcohol-free zones.

As part of efforts to minimize alcohol-related disturbances and disorder, the province has banned drinking at 846 locations. The list includes Tamna Culture Square, zones around area elementary schools, and 92 popular urban parks.

The province will dispatch municipal police to alert the public to the new rules, and it plans to spend 100 million won next year to erect signs declaring the areas to be alcohol-free zones.

탐라문화광장과 도시공원, 초등학교 주변이 음주청정지역으로 지정됐습니다.

제주특별자치도는 음주로 인한 소란과 무질서 근절을 위해 이용객이 많은 도시공원 92개소와 탐라문화광장, 초등학교 주변 어린이보호구역 등 840여 곳을
최근 음주청정지역으로 고시했습니다.

제주도는 자치경찰을 수시로 파견해 계도활동을 펼치고 내년에는 예산 1억 원을 투입해 음주청정지역 안내판을 설치할 계획입니다.
