Warning issued 2 weeks earlier than last year

Officials have issued a nationwide influenza alert.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued the warning as the number of flu patients spiked to 7.8 per 1,000 people. 6.3 per thousand is the benchmark for a warning.

Authorities issued the alert two weeks earlier than they did last year.

After an alert is issued, high-risk groups like children 9-and-under, pregnant women, senior citizens 65-and-older, heart disease patients, and lung disease patients qualify for insurance benefits even if they have not undergone a specific influenza test.

전국에 독감 유행주의보 발령

전국에 인플루엔자, 즉 독감 유행주의보가 발령됐습니다.

질병관리본부는 최근 전국적으로 인플루엔자 환자가 급증하면서 1천명 당 7.8명까지 늘어 유행기준인 6.3명을 넘어서 주의보를 발령한다고 밝혔습니다.

독감 유행주의보 발령은 지난해보다 2주 빠른 것입니다.

독감 유행주의보가 발령되면 9살 이하 소아와 임신부, 65살 이상 어르신, 심장질환자, 폐질환자 등 고위험군은 인플루엔자 검사 없이도 건강보험을 적용받을 수 있게 됩니다.
