3. Crackdown on illegal distribution of livestock products
Authorities preparing for Lunar New Year shopping season

Authorities are cracking down on the illegal distribution of livestock products in the run up to the Lunar New Year holidays.

The provincial government will work with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency to inspect 14-hundred locations, including livestock product packaging and processing companies as well as large retailers. Authorities will be making sure products have proper origin labels and that the livestock product traceability system is being implemented.

They will also inspect hygienic conditions and look for expired products.

제주도가 설을 앞두고 축산물 불법 유통행위를 집중 단속합니다.

이를 위해 식약처, 농림축산검역본부 등과 함께 축산물 식육포장 처리업소와 대형마트 등 1천 4백여 개소를 대상으로 현장 점검을 실시합니다.

주요 점검 사항은 축산물 원산지 허위표시나 미표시, 그리고 축산물 이력제 이행 여부 등입니다.

아울러 영업장 위생 상태와 유통기간이 지난 제품의 판매여부도 점검합니다.
