A family of three from Jeju test positive for COVID 19
Presumed to have been infected in the Seoul Metropolitan Area
A family of three from Jeju were confirmed positive for COVID 19 after returning from a trip to the Seoul metropolitan area.
The Jeju Institute of Health and Environment confirmed patients no. 54, 55 and 56 on the 14th while they were under self-quarantine after undergoing tests at the Seobu Public Health Center in Seogwipo City.
A field investigation revealed that the family had visited the Seoul metropolitan area for five days from the 5th to the 9th to meet relatives.
After returning to Jeju Island on the 9th, patient no. 54 received a text message alerting that their relatives in Seoul were being investigated for COVID-19 infection. The patient immediately went in for testing and was also found to be positive for the virus.
Quarantine officials suspect that the family was infected in Seoul, given that their symptoms came on after returning from their trip.
The provincial government released the family’s route, which showed that they boarded an Air Seoul flight from Gimpo Airport at 6:45 p.m. on the 9th. The following day, a stop at Daejeong Nonghyup Hanaro Mart was made at 10 a.m. and then another one on the 11th at 7 p.m.
They also visited Wooridle Mart in Daejeong-eup at 11 a.m. on the 11th and Kang mun-bo internal medicine clinic in Daejeong-eup at around 11:20 a.m. on the 12th.
The quarantine authorities are undergoing contact tracing as well as gathering additional travel information by tracking the patients’ routes using CCTV and credit card data.

수도권에 있는 가족을 만나러
수도권을 방문한 것으로 확인됐습니다.
지난 9일 제주에 돌아온 뒤
수도권에 있는 가족이
코로나 전수조사 대상자에 해당된다는 문자메시지를 받고
보호자인 54번 확진자가 즉시 검사받은 결과
양성 판정이 나온 것으로 조사됐습니다.
이에따라 방역당국은
이들 가족이 수도권을 방문한 뒤 증상이 발현된 것에 미뤄
수도권에서 감염된 것으로 추정하고 있습니다.
이들 가족은 지난 9일 저녁 6시 45분
에어서울 항공편을 통해 제주에 돌아온 뒤,
지난 10일 오전 10시와 11일 저녁 7시
대정농협 하나로마트를 방문했습니다.
지난 11일 오전 11시에는 대정읍 우리들마트를 방문했고
12일 오전 11시 20분쯤
대정읍 강문보내과를 방문한 것으로 파악됐습니다.
방역당국은 항공기 내 접촉자를 파악하고 있으며
CCTV와 신용카드 사용 내역 분석 등을 통해
방문지와 접촉자에 대한 정보를 확인하고 있습니다.
