Foreign workers most concerned about delays in payment
300 cases reported in Jeju

The majority of legal consultations made by foreign workers on Jeju Island have been primarily related to issues regarding delayed wages.

According to the Jeju Foreign Workers Support Center, out of a total of 2,300 counseling cases, delays in payment ranked the highest with 300 cases, followed by 270 of employment transition and 171 cases related to immigration.

There were also 25 industrial accidents and 24 assaults that were reported.

Most consultations were made by Chinese nationals, at 980 people, followed by Nepal, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Meanwhile, there are 11,000 registered foreigners from China, 3,500 from Vietnam, 1,700 from Indonesia, and 1,200 from Nepal.

가장 많이 상담한 것으로 집계됐습니다.

제주도 외국인근로자지원센터에 따르면
전체 상담사례 2천 300여 건 가운데
임금체불이 300건으로 가장 많았고
사업장 변경 270건, 출입국 관련 171건 등으로 파악됐습니다.

산업재해나 폭행도 각각 25건, 24건이나 됐습니다.

상담자 국적은
중국이 980여 명으로 가장 많고
네팔, 베트남, 필리핀 등이 뒤를 이었습니다.

한편 도내 등록된 외국인은
중국 1만 1천여 명, 베트남 3천 500여 명,
인도네시아 1천 700여 명,
네팔 1천 200여 명 등으로 파악되고 있습니다.
