Wintering sites of migratory birds cordoned off
Two control posts to be established to prevent highly pathogenic AI

Jeju City will control the entry to wintering sites of migratory birds to prepare for the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

By early next year, during the period of time in which winter migratory birds reside in Jeju, two control posts will be set up in migratory bird sancuaries located in Hado-ri, Gujwa-eup, and Yongsu-ri, Hankyeong-myeon, in order to ban livestock vehicles and fishermen from entering the areas.

The government will also strengthen monitoring and quarantine inspections by February next year.

In Jeju, AI viruses were detected in the feces and dead bodies of migratory birds in 2015 and 2017.

아울러 내년 2월까지 예찰을 강화하고 수시 방역도 강화합니다.

철새 분변과 폐사체에서 AI 바이러스가 검출됐습니다.
