331 missing prisoners of 4·3 Incident to get retrials
Retrials to be conducted collectively

After ten former prisoners of the 4.3 Incident were acquitted of all charges at a retrial that was held last month, the court has decided to open cases for all three hundred former prisoners who have also requested retrials.

The Jeju District Court will open all retrials filed against the government by 331 missing victims of the 4.3 Incident, including the late Song Tae-in.

The court is considering setting a special date and conducting a collective trial as there are hundreds of applicants.

Meanwhile, the bereaved families of the 10 MIA prisoners who were found innocent last month are preparing a lawsuit for damages against the central government.

재심 청구사건을 개시하기로 결정했습니다.

재판부는 재심 청구인들이 수백여 명에 달하는 만큼
특별기일을 정해
일괄 재판을 진행하는 방안을 검토 중입니다.

한편 지난달 무죄를 선고받은
행불 수형인 10명의 유족들은
국가를 상대로 손해배상 청구소송을 준비하고 있습니다.
