Ceremony following revision of Jeju 4·3 Special Act
Public keynote ceremony held March 5th at Gwandeokjeong

A public keynote ceremony following the revision of the April 3rd Special Act was held at Gwandeokjeong Pavilion Square, on the morning of the 5th. Heads of government organizations took part in the ceremony alongside bereaved families of the April 3rd incident.

Under the theme of "Revised 4.3 Special Act, a Beginning of True Spring," the ceremony included a silent tribute to the deceased with commendations by government representatives followed by traditional acclamations.

At the event, Governor Won Hee-ryong stressed that he will work to ensure that all remaining tasks are followed through.

Oh Im-jong, the chairman of the Association for the bereaved family of April 3rd incident victims, offered a traditional formal bow to express his gratitude for the revision of the special law.

각급 기관단체장과 유족 등이 참가한 가운데
5일 오전 제주시 관덕정 앞 마당에서 열렸습니다.

'함께 만든 4.3 특별법 개정, 참된 봄의 시작입니다'를 주제로 열린
보고대회는
4.3 영령에 대한 묵념과
각급 기관단체장의 축하인사, 만세 삼창 순으로 진행됐습니다.

이 자리에서 원희룡 지사는
74년 전 4.3역사의 도화선이 된 관덕정 광장에서
새로운 역사를 선포하게 됐다며
남은 과제도 충실히 대처해
과거사 해결에 있어
세계적인 모범사례로 만들겠다고 강조했습니다.

오임종 4.3 유족회장은
이번 특별법 개정에 대한 감사의 인사로 큰절을 올리기도 했습니다.
