52 new trainees enrolled at Hansupul Haenyeo School
Training courses will run through August

This year, 52 new students will be entering the (한수풀) Hansupul Haenyeo School.

Jeju City revealed that 52 new students were selected through a screening process out of a total of 220 applicants who applied for admission to the Haenyeo School.

These students are eligible to join the fishing village after completion of the haenyeo school training course which begins in May and will last for 3 months.

Jeju City Municipal Office plans to foster 10 new haenyeo divers among the graduates and plans to support their registration fees and initial settlement funds.

신규로 52명이 입학합니다.

제주시는
해녀학교에 입학 신청을 한
220여 명의 지원자 가운데
심사를 거쳐 신규 입학생 52명을 선정했다고 밝혔습니다.

이들은 5월부터
3개월 동안 해녀학교 양성과정을 이수하면
어촌계 가입 자격이 주어집니다.

제주시는
해녀학교 졸업생 가운데
10명을 신규 해녀로 육성할 예정으로
이들에게는 어촌계 가입비와 초기 정착금을
지원할 계획입니다.
