Illegal Trade of Hallasan Hiking Reservations


This is a complaint received by the provincial ombudsman website about the illegal sale of Hallasan Mountain trail reservations.


The posting says a reservation for two people sold for 50,000 won, and includes a photo showing the deal was made.
A number of postings by people looking to purchase a reservation code to hike up Hallasan Mountain on January 1st can be found on online market apps.

Hiking reservation seeker
I posted the inquiry to buy a hiking reservation code as I heard that some people make spare reservations. I found similar postings on online shopping apps.


One person can make a reservation for up to four hikers on the Hallasan Mountain National Park website.
But since the applicant has 72 hours in which to provide their personal information when making the reservation, illegal sellers take advantage of this and make the reservations first, then seek out a buyer.


In other cases, a hiking reservation’s QR code is sent to the illegal buyer in a text message once the transaction is made.


On weekends or holidays when the mountain is particularly busy, it is not easy to check the identity of every hiker one by one.
Until now, officials have yet to catch anyone at the trailhead with an illegally procured reservation.


As the problem grows, Hallasan Mountain National Park has sent official letters to various websites requesting the deletion of reservation code transaction posts or related search terms.


On January 1st, the province and the Provincial Police Agency will check the identity of every hiker by comparing reservation codes and IDs.
If caught, a violator will be banned from using the mountain trails for a year.

On the first day of 2023, the province and the Jeju Provincial Police Agency will have officials at every entrance of the mountain to compare the QR code and ID of night hikers. Violators cannot access the trails.


Meanwhile, a police investigation is underway regarding a mountaineering club that sought out illegal hiking reservations and sold the reservations with the help of a Hallasan Mountain National Park employee.

코드 2개가 5만원에 판매됐다는 글과
판매가 완료됐다는 사진도 함께 올라와 있습니다.

온라인 물품 거래 어플에서는
내년 1월 1일,
한라산 탐방 예약 코드를
구매하고 싶다는 문의가 잇따르고 있습니다.

찾아보니까 (온라인) 마트에도 글들이 하나둘씩 올라와 있어서 혹시나 해서 원래 올라가는 사람보다 더 많이 신청한 사람들이 있어서 한자리씩 남는다라는 소식을 몇 번 접해서 혹시나 저도 신청할 수 있나 싶어서 글을 올리게 됐어요. .


예약 사이트에서 1인당 4명까지 탐방 예약이 가능합니다.

예약 이후 3일 내에만
개인 정보를 입력하면 되기 때문에
먼저 표를 예약한뒤 사이트를 통해 구매자를 찾는 겁니다.

또는 돈을 받고 큐알 코드를 문자로 양도하기도 합니다.

탐방객이 많을 때에는
일일이 신분 확인이 쉽지 않아
지금까지 이 같은 불법 거래가 적발된 적은 없습니다.

문제가 커지자 한라산국립공원은
관련 사이트에 예약 코드 거래 게시글이나
연관 검색어를
삭제해달라는 공문을 보냈습니다.

1월 1일 탐방 당일에는
예약 코드와 신분증을 대조해
탐방자 신원을 전수 조사하기로 했습니다.

적발되면 1년 동안 한라산 등반이 금지됩니다.

1월 1일에 야간 산행에 대해서는 저희와 자치경찰이 배치되고 전 직원이 비상근무를 하면서 QR코드와 신분증과 대조해서 본인이 아닌 경우에는 입산을 통제하는 조치를 취할 계획입니다.

이 밖에도 모 산악회가
국립공원 직원을 통해 예약 대행과
부정 판매를 했다는 진정서가 제출돼 경찰도 수사를 진행하고 있습니다.
