3. Province sees promise in autonomous vehicle industry
Deal signed Monday with JDC, Nexen Tech

Local officials want to boost the autonomous vehicle industry in Jeju.

The provincial government and the Jeju Free International City Development Center signed an agreement Monday with auto parts maker Nexen Tech to develop self-driving technology.

The province will provide administrative support, the JDC will oversee the testing of autonomous vehicles, and Nexen Tech will secure funding and draw up a detailed project roadmap.
